Anti Inflammatory Turmeric Golden Latte

 
 

Golden milk is a delicious, creamy, latte that is lightly sweetened and layered with warming, healing spices such as turmeric, ginger, and cinnamon. This classic Ayurvedic elixir has been used for hundreds of years to help fight inflammation, aid sleep, heal the digestive system, increase immune strength, and more. This is my night-time recipe for cold nights, after stressful days, or when I feel a bug coming on.

Healing Properties

Turmeric— countless healing properties, the most potent being curcumin, a polyphenol that powerfully fights inflammation, cleanses the liver, detoxes toxins, aids in digestive healing, stops the growth of disease-causing organisms and more.

With extra fat added from coconut milk and MCT oil, this latte is incredible for brain health, enhancing mood, and curbing cravings. Collagen peptides added for even more gut repair, skin, and joint health.

  • 1 tablespoon ground turmeric

  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or teaspoon of MCT oil

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1-inch nob of fresh ginger

  • 8 oz boiling water

  • 8 oz coconut milk

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tablespoon raw honey or maple syrup

  • pinch of cardamom (optional)

  • 1/8 tsp black pepper

  • pinch of sea salt

  • 1 scoop of collagen peptides

Directions

  • Heat water and coconut milk on the stove, add coconut oil and bring to simmer

  • Add the ground spices and fresh ginger, let steep for 5 min

  • Turn off the heat and pour into a high-speed blender

  • Add vanilla, collagen peptides, salt, and pepper

  • Blend until super creamy and frothy

  • Enjoy!
