JUICE SCOOP

There are a lot of green juice recipes out there, and there is no “best” or “right” one. Juicing is definitely something I only do in moderation when I need a good cleanse and clean-out. This is my favorite recipe for a simple, clean, green juice to help you reset and feel lighter. I don’t recommend long juice cleanses, or juice as your only food source for any longer than 24 hours. Whole foods contain the fiber, protein, and fat we need to sustain health and juice does not contain those. But, juicing is a great way to add a REALLY healthy addition to a clean day of eating or, do a 24 hour juice-only cleanse to really reset your liver, gut, and energy levels. I do this when I am feeling signs of candida, fatigue, bloating, or really low heavy energy. I like to do a juice plan for 48 hours of fresh juice and water for the first half of the day and light, clean meals in the evening with plenty of fat, protein, and fiber.

Make sure all of your juicing produce is organic, fresh, and washed thoroughly

  • 1-2 bunches of celery

  • 1 bunch of dinosaur kale, stems cut off

  • 4-inch nob of fresh ginger

  • 3 lemons, peel removed

  • 4 green apples

  • 2 cucumbers, skin on

  • 2 bunches of parsley

JUICE IT!

Depending on what I’ve cooked that week, I save knobs, ends, and greens tops from my produce to throw in my juice if they’re fresh. Carrot tops, beet tops, apple cores, etc.

I use a slow masticating juicer, so it doesn’t heat the juice and ruin the active nutrients and enzymes. I usually recommend drinking it all within 48 hours or the nutrient content becomes pretty diminished. Keep in the fridge, in an air tight container and enjoy!
